Tshepang Mogotsi only dreamt of attending St. John’s College from a very young age, but he never envisaged that his dream would ever become a reality due to his family’s financial circumstances. He worked hard during his primary school years and was awarded with the centenary scholarship award by St. John’s College.

Unfortunately, the amount of the scholarship was not enough to cover all the projected expenses. Tshepang’s headmaster at the time referred him to SSP. He was awarded a five year SSP scholarship which afforded him to complete his high school career at St. John’s College.

He then went on to study Information Systems at the University of Witwatersrand where he received multiple awards such as the Accenture Prize for Performance Improvement in the third year of his studies. He also received the Top Team Systems Development project Award and the Top Business Analyst Award in the IS Honours System Development Project. He graduated with a BCom Degree and now works for Accenture.

Tshepang is a proud ambassador for SSP and believes in our ethos of giving back. He continues to provide support and guidance to other alumni, and has developed a comprehensive database software system for SSP in partnership with one of his fellow alumna. He is a humble, well-spoken young man who excels in his profession and continues to volunteer his time and knowledge to SSP and our graduates. Tshepang was honoured with the Alumni Achiever Award at the recent at the 15th anniversary SSP Gala.

Educating once child can bring hope to many. Student Sponsorship is committed to developing more leaders such as Tshepang. The programme is designed in such a way that it offers comprehensive and well-rounded support to the scholar and parents. The impact reaches far and beyond finances. It is life changing.
