Nozizwe has a strong sense of citizenship, and a passion for social justice issues, coupled with a proven track record of taking action and implementing various programmes in furtherance of these. Her particular interest is in development with a special focus in education, which led her to initiating a bursary scheme at her alma mater, St. Mary’s School for Girls in Waverley, Johannesburg, by mobilising her former classmates to fund the high school education of an academically gifted child from an economically disadvantaged background at the school.
Nozizwe Vundla joined SSP as the Executive Director in December 2016. Zizwe has earned both a Bachelor of Arts and an LLB from Wits University. Her professional history includes management consulting at KPMG and a successful entrepreneurial venture. Her experience in development includes roles at both the Department of Trade and Industry, and the National Treasury. She is an alum of St. Mary’s, Waverley – a SSP Partner School – and serves on the St. Mary’s Foundation board. She also serves on the boards of the Artist Proof Studio, and the Women’s Legal Centre.
