SSP Grade 8 Scholars Embrace High School with Confidence and Excellence

The SSP Grade 8 cohort has made an exceptional start to their high school journey, settling into their new environments with confidence, enthusiasm, and purpose. From the outset, they have embraced the opportunities available to them, quickly becoming active and engaged members of their school communities.
Many of our Scholars are already demonstrating leadership, with some taking on roles such as captain of a rugby A team and contributing meaningfully to service initiatives like Back-a-Buddy. Their involvement spans a wide range of sporting and cultural activities, including rugby, basketball, diving, soccer, tennis, golf, dance, netball, choir, debate, chess, orchestra, and drama. Notably, one of our Grade 8’s has achieved the remarkable honour of being selected to represent South Africa at the Karate-Do International Cup in Brazil this August.
Academically, the class achieved an impressive overall term average of 76%. This strong performance is reflected across all core subjects; English (73.5%), Mathematics (74%), Life Sciences (76%), and Physical Sciences (78%)- an encouraging result given the demands of this transitional year. Notably, this grade 8 cohort earned 6 distinctions in English, 10 in Mathematics, 10 in Life Sciences, and an outstanding 15 in Physical Sciences.”
We are incredibly proud of how our Grade 8 Scholars have embraced this new chapter- demonstrating resilience, excellence, and a commitment to making the most of every opportunity.
